A lenda do Liverpool FC morreu aos 75 anos após ser diagnosticada com câncer.
Uma figura muito popular no jogo, Keegan marcou 100 vezes pelos Reds entre 1971 e 1977 - um período no qual ele ganhou três títulos da liga, uma Copa da Europa, uma FA Cup e duas Copas da UEFA.
Ele conquistou a Bola de Ouro duas vezes enquanto representava a equipe alemã de Hamburgo.
Sua carreira de jogador também incluiu passagens pelo Scunthorpe United, Southampton e Newcastle United.
Keegan mais tarde assumiu a gerência e liderou Newcastle (duas vezes), Fulham, Manchester City e Inglaterra.
