Zara Shaw's England reached the last 16 of the U20 Women's World Cup despite a 2-1 loss to Brazil on Friday.
Shaw wore the armband for all of the Group B finale as the young Lionesses finished second thanks to a superior team conduct score over Canada.
Brazil recovered from Lily Dent's 31st-minute opener with second-half goals from Clarinha and Gisele.
England will contest their Round of 16 tie on Thursday (September 17).
