Media watchYan Diomande makes stance clear as £100m Liverpool transfer talks continue
The Reds communicated their willingness to pay up to £86m for the RB Leipzig star last week. However, the Bundesliga side are reluctant to sell the 19-year-old winger and want to enter into talks with the player's representatives about a fresh contract.
However, Diomande's agency, Roc Nation Sports, are understood to have been sounding out some of the biggest clubs in Europe for months about their plans regarding their client and, while European champions Paris Saint-Germain are also interested, it is thought that Liverpool's pursuit is the most advanced at present.
Diomande set up two-goal hero Nicolas Pepe on Thursday night as the Elephants beat Curacao 2-0 to progress to the last-32 of the 2026 World Cup. And speaking after the game, the Reds' summer target was adamant he is not thinking about a potential summer switch just yet.
He said: "Right now, I don't know. I am not thinking about my future after the World Cup. I am trying to put all my energy into the World Cup and we will see what is going to happen after that. I can say nothing about."
