This match could see Liverpool defender Bonner become the third player to make 200 appearances in the WSL, after Jordan Nobbs and Millie Bright.

Bonner is in line to reach that milestone more than 14 years after she started in the first ever WSL game, for Chelsea against Arsenal, in April 2011.

The Reds have won three of their last four Women’s Super League meetings with Villa, though did lose the most recent in March last season (1-2).

Both teams are seeking their first win of the campaign. Villa drew at Brighton & Hove Albion before losing to Chelsea, while Liverpool were beaten against Everton and Leicester City.

Liverpool completed 634 passes in their fixture at Leicester last weekend, which was the first time in their WSL history that they had recorded more than 500 successful passes in a game.

At King Power Stadium, Taylor’s side had 73.5 per cent possession – their second-most ever in a Women’s Super League match (73.9 per cent v Yeovil in January 2018).

Villa have not trailed at half-time in any of their last seven WSL matches (winning in three, drawing in four), with only Chelsea (two) conceding fewer first half-goals than them (three) across that period (since March 30).

Gemma Evans has had the most touches (207) and played the most passes (179) for the Reds so far this season.

Though Liverpool have conceded five goals in their opening two matches, their xG conceded figure is just 1.1 – the second-lowest in the WSL.

Only Lauren Hemp (eight) has created more chances than Villa’s Chasity Grant (seven) in the division in 2025-26 to date.
