Six Liverpool FC Women players were in action for their countries in the latest round of World Cup qualifiers.

Jenna Clark scored twice for Scotland to make it three goals in two games for her nation during a 7-0 victory over Luxembourg.

The centre-back netted the second and fourth goals of the contest - finding the net with two headers at corner deliveries - before being substituted in the 76th minute.

Clark said post-match: "I'm really happy [with the goals]. It's a part of my game I've been wanting to improve and wanting to bring into the national team as well.

"I'm just delighted to contribute to the team in that way… we've got such good players and excellent deliveries into the box, so it makes my job really easy. I can't really do much else.

"I just put myself in a good position in the box and they’re good at finding me."

Aurélie Csillag was also on target for her country during Switzerland's 4-1 victory over Malta.

The forward stepped off the bench at half-time to score the last goal of the fixture.

Elsewhere, there was an assist for Ceri Holland as Wales defeated Montenegro 6-1.

The attacker played the crucial pass for Hannah Cain's opener, ahead of being replaced by Liverpool teammate Gemma Evans after 84 minutes.

Lily Woodham also featured in the game as she completed the first half for Wales.

For Sweden, goalkeeper Jennifer Falk kept a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against Serbia, while Leanne Kiernan was an unused substitute in Republic of Ireland's 2-1 defeat by the Netherlands.

At the Women's Asian Cup, meanwhile, Fuka Nagano and Risa Shimizu were unused substitutes in Japan's second group-stage game - an 11-0 win over India.

On Friday, Hannah Silcock remained on the bench for England's U23s as they drew 1-1 at home to their Netherlands counterparts.
