Liverpool FC has more than 300 Official LFC Supporters Clubs (OLSCs) across 100 countries worldwide.

The Reds' fan base is famous for its passion and loyalty, cheering on both the men's and women's squads whether on Merseyside or watching from afar.

Our We Love You Liverpool feature aims to bring supporters closer together to learn more about each other wherever they are based around the globe.

Whether in the UK and Republic of Ireland, on Merseyside itself, in North or South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia or elsewhere, fans provide the very foundations the club is built on.

Here, we meet OLSC Kentucky...

Tell us about the OLSC…

So, our club formed back in 2011, when I decided I was done with watching Liverpool matches by myself in the early morning hours while trying not to wake my wife up! Through some work connections I found a bar owner who was a Liverpool fan, and he allowed me to post flyers about watching matches together at his bar. One year later I was ecstatic to have 15 people watch Liverpool lift the League Cup at our home pub. Then came the notice a year after that that we had been accepted as an Official Liverpool Supporters Club. Now, we have over 150 people on our membership list and also have a second 'branch' in Lexington, which has a around 20-30 regulars.

How special is it to have the supporters club where you are?

This means a lot to all of us. It is for fans, by fans, and the fans are what makes this club what it is. Sure, Liverpool is an historic club in England, but 'The Liverpool Way' is best depicted through the vast network of supporters throughout the world and all the things we come together to accomplish. It is so gratifying to know we are a part of that.

It must give you a sense of community and connection to Liverpool and the club itself?

Of course! Having a direct line of communication with Liverpool is a cool thing. Also, knowing the club values our input and inclusion makes us feel like we have a part to play, albeit somewhat small, in what goes on at the club.

What is so special about supporting Liverpool for your members?

Being part of a club that is rich in history, with trophies galore, iconic players and managers, a club ethos and a city that shares similar visions as ours. Many of our members weathered the near-administration times and seeing us back just brings immense pride and satisfaction.

Do you hold meet-ups for games, or any special events throughout the year?

We host watch parties for every game at Molly Malone's Irish Pub in Louisville, and also at The Cellar Bar and Grill in Lexington. We have also hosted a few end-of-season cookouts, annual general meetings, outings to our local soccer team Louisville City FC (if only they had dropped the City part I could be supporting two LFCs!) and some group trips to Liverpool pre-season friendlies.

Has the OLSC ever visited Anfield?

Our club has not officially sponsored an Anfield trip, but our bar owner has and that usually is comprised of a fair amount of OLSC Kentucky members. They took 18 or so to see the Liverpool v Newcastle match last season where we all-but wrapped the title! A very memorable trip for those who attended.

What is your favourite memory together as an OLSC?

Personally, as the chairman of the club since its existence, I'd have to say the first cup final in 2012 against Cardiff for its nostalgia as it was the culmination of hard work in setting up a supporters club from nothing. But now, the 15 we had then is a drop in the bucket to our Champions League finals crowds, which would probably be the next favourite memory, the 2019 Champions League final win over Tottenham.

We had a huge crowd and we won, what more needs to be said really? And close behind those were the club bus trips up to Chicago to see Liverpool play a pre-season friendly against Olympiacos, or to Notre Dame against Borussia Dortmund, or to Michigan to witness Xherdan Shaqiri's bicycle kick from the front row behind the goal against Manchester United.

Lastly, if anyone else is interested in joining your OLSC, how would they go about doing so?

The best way to reach us is through the official website, our Facebook page or X account, or better yet, by watching at match at Molly Malone's or Cellar Bar and meeting us in person!
