FeatureWe Love You Liverpool: Meet Official LFC Supporters Club... Edmonton
Liverpool FC has more than 300 Official LFC Supporters Clubs (OLSCs) across 100 countries worldwide.
The Reds’ fanbase is famous for its passion and loyalty, cheering on both Jürgen Klopp and Matt Beard’s squads whether on Merseyside or watching from afar.
Our We Love You Liverpool feature aims to bring supporters closer together to learn more about each other wherever they are based around the globe.
Whether in the UK and Republic of Ireland, on Merseyside itself, in North or South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia or elsewhere, fans provide the very foundations that the club is built on.
Here, we meet OLSC Edmonton…
Tell us about the OLSC…
Our OLSC was formed through many years of a small number of Liverpool fans meeting up for games at various pubs in Edmonton. As the numbers grew we decided we had enough fans to apply to become official. We have a great home pub, who are very good to us, we have a fantastic red family of all ages and we currently have over 250 paid members.
How special is it to have the supporters club where you are?
It means so much for us to have our supporters club, not only do we enjoy all things Liverpool, but it also gives us a platform to help others in our community through our charity work of which we are extremely proud.
It must give you a sense of community and connection to Liverpool and the club itself?
Being part of an OLSC definitely makes us feel closer to the club itself, being part of an international red family is something very special and has enabled us to have fans from other OLSCs visit us to watch games. We’ve also travelled to various OLSCs and formed friendships we would never have had if it wasn’t for LFC.

Supporting Liverpool for our members is special because we each have a story to tell about how our LFC journey began. For some it is generational and their families have been fans for decades, for others it was that night in Istanbul, or recognising the brilliance of Steven Gerrard. They are all great stories to share.
Do you hold meet-ups for games, or any special events throughout the year?
We meet up for 90 per cent of the games at our headquarters: The Cabin Pub. Due to the time difference, we only miss watching the 12.30pm GMT games together as it’s 5.30am our time and once the Alberta winter hits, it’s a little too early!
For members, some of our past activities include bowling, summer BBQs, Christmas parties and cooking hot meals for the homeless community, along with volunteering at our local foodbank.
Has the OLSC ever visited Anfield?
We have had lots of members visit Liverpool and the fortress that is Anfield. They’ve done the stadium tour, seen the murals and toured the city and managed to forge some great friendships along the way.
What is a favourite memory you have as an OLSC together?
Favourite memories for our group are of course mostly cup finals, but an outstanding one for us would be the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona and then to top it off winning the final in Madrid with 350 fans celebrating together in our home pub. Away from the pitch, our best bonding moments are definitely our charity work for our community here in Edmonton, but also fundraising for charities in Liverpool. We are definitely an OLSC who values ‘The Liverpool Way’.
Lastly, if anyone else is interested in joining your OLSC, how would they go about doing so?
If anyone local to the Edmonton/Northern Alberta/Saskatchewan regions would like to join our group, or get some more information about us Edmonton Reds, they can contact us via email at olscedmonton@outlook.com, or reach out via message on any of our social media platforms. We’d love to hear from you!
