VideoWatch: Liverpool FC superfan Sally surprised with special stadium tour
The visit, held ahead of the United Nations’ International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), was a heartfelt thank you for Sally’s unwavering support of the Reds and you can see how the day unfolded in the video above.
Sally and her dad Dave were warmly welcomed by LFC Women defender Gemma Bonner, their personal tour guide for the day who took them behind the scenes at the stadium. Sally also got to meet her favourite player, Ceri Holland, and goalkeeper Rachael Laws during a memorable afternoon.
IDPD, celebrated annually on December 3, raises awareness of the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities across all aspects of life.
For Sally, a 16-year-old with cerebral palsy who uses a wheelchair, football is not just a game – it’s a way of life.
Liverpool FC remains proud to champion its incredible fanbase, whose passion and resilience embody the spirit of the club.
“There is no feeling in the world that can compare to being at a football game,” Sally said. “It’s probably one of the most important things in my life. There’s no connection or community feeling like Liverpool’s. We’re just the best club, and I wouldn’t give up Liverpool for anything.”
Sally’s dedication to Liverpool FC knows no bounds. She is a proud member of the Liverpool Disabled Supporters Association, attends men’s and women’s games alongside her family, and also plays wheelchair football every week with LFC Foundation.
Celebrating IDPD and LFC’s diverse fanbase is part of Red Together, the club’s commitment to embedding equality, diversity and inclusion into everything it does.
