Having only completed his transfer to the Reds from VfB Stuttgart on Friday, the Japan midfielder received international clearance in time to be named on the bench for Saturday’s Premier League clash with AFC Bournemouth.
The Reds ran out 3-1 winners at Anfield, though had to recover from a third-minute concession and rally together after Alexis Mac Allister was shown a straight red card just before the hour mark.
Endo was then sent on for his first appearance – with Diogo Jota netting the hosts’ third goal in between – and he later revealed the emotions of the past few days.
“I only found out three or four days ago there was a chance [to join Liverpool],” said the new No.3.
“It was so, so quick. At the beginning of the week I was getting ready to play in the Bundesliga, at the end of the week I am playing here at Anfield in front of all these fans – it is crazy!”
Endo continued: “I am an experienced player, so I need to accept and deal with even this situation. It was hard… but it was special for me.”
