In Europe, Liverpool beat Lille and then still secured top spot in the Champions League league phase despite losing away to PSV Eindhoven in their final outing.

And in the domestic cups, the Reds were defeated 1-0 away at Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final, before progressing into round four of the FA Cup by overcoming Accrington Stanley 4-0 at Anfield.
