NewsVirgil van Dijk nominated for 2023 FIFA FIFPRO Men's World 11

More than 28,000 professional footballers have cast their votes for the team, which is based on performances from December 19, 2022 to August 20, 2023.

Van Dijk’s form for club and country has seen the Dutchman included among the six defenders in contention to feature in the World 11.

The final 11 will consist of the goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders and three forwards who received the most votes, plus the outfield player with the next highest number of selections.

It will be announced during The Best FIFA Football Awards in London on January 15.
