Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has been named in the EA Sports Team of the Year for 2022.

The Reds centre-back was chosen in the final XI following a public vote earlier this month, which shortlisted The World’s Best top 100 footballers.

Van Dijk helped Liverpool to lift both the Carabao Cup and Emirates FA Cup, whilst reaching the Champions League final against Real Madrid.

Jürgen Klopp's men also achieved a second-place finish in the Premier League, as they ended the campaign one point behind winners Manchester City.
