By Sam Williams
Van Dijk scored with a thumping header to put his team 2-1 up against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday night.
After falling 1-0 down at Deutsche Bank Park, the Reds equalised through Hugo Ekitike prior to Van Dijk putting them ahead.
Ibrahima Konate increased the advantage before the break, with Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai also getting on the scoresheet in the second half to complete a comprehensive 5-1 victory.
The win leaves Arne Slot’s side on six points from three games in this season’s league phase, with an Anfield meeting with Real Madrid next up on Tuesday November 4.
