Liverpool U21s continue their pre-season build-up with a trip to Kidderminster Harriers on Friday night for a 7pm BST kick-off.

Barry Lewtas’ team played out a 2-2 draw with Peterborough United at the Academy on Tuesday in their opening preparation game, and another good workout is in store at Aggborough Stadium.

The young Reds made the same trip almost exactly a year ago and recorded a 3-1 win, with Lewtas expecting an even more difficult game this time around.

“Kidderminster had a fantastic season last season, winning the play-off final to win promotion to the National League, so if anything we’re expecting an even greater challenge this time round,” the U21s head coach told Liverpoolfc.com.

“The beauty of pre-season is there’s lots of different aims in the game, building fitness, developing a style and trying to get players into form. So the result is part of it but you never know quite where each team is.

“For us it will be a real test and a real opportunity to try to see if we can establish our identity against senior opposition.”

Reds fans can now get tickets for the game, with both seated and standing away sections available in advance via the hosts here. Adult tickets are priced £15, over 65s and U21s are £10, and U16s are £5.
