AcademyU18s friendly: Cardiff City 2-3 Liverpool
By Steve Hunter
The Reds started brightly and were 2-0 up early on thanks to efforts from Lewis Koumas and Ranel Young.
However, the home side then came back to 2-2, before the Reds made it 3-2 ahead of the break with an U16 player on the mark.
Reflecting on the outing, U18s manager Marc Bridge-Wilkinson told Liverpoolfc.com: "It was an exciting first half and we created some good chances to increase our lead at 2-0.
"Give credit to Cardiff City - they played well to get back into it before we scored just before half-time.
"Ben Doak made his first appearance for us and he had some really nice moments in the game.
"It was really nice to see him in the red shirt and it was another good, useful exercise for us."
