AcademyStephenson strikes twice as U21s beat Blackpool in friendly
The young Reds came from a goal behind to emerge the winners of a hard-fought 60-minute contest at the Academy, with Luca Stephenson finding the target twice for the hosts.
A strong Blackpool side had taken the lead earlier in the second half but Barry Lewtas’ team responded well to follow up their 1-0 success at Kidderminster Harriers last week.
Oakley Cannonier and Paul Glatzel were among the players involved as the forward pair continue their comebacks from injuries sustained last season.
“It was good to keep it ticking over really, getting lads some minutes and just trying to play our way into some kind of little bit of form,” U21s head coach Lewtas told Liverpoolfc.com.
“It was a good workout. Blackpool are a good team and it was a good game.”
