Harvey Elliott could make his 100th appearance for Liverpool when the Reds return to action against Luton Town on Wednesday night.

At 20 years and 323 days, Elliott would become the fourth-youngest player in the club's history to reach the landmark.

Only Michael Owen (19 years and 363 days), Raheem Sterling (20 years and six days) and Robbie Fowler (20 years and 167 days) would sit ahead of the No.19.

Darwin Nunez's next start will be his 50th for the Reds in all competitions.

If Mohamed Salah scores against the Hatters, he will become the first Liverpool player in history to have netted 20 goals in all competitions in seven consecutive seasons.

A goal from Luis Diaz will see five different players reach 10 goals in a season for Liverpool for the second time in the last eight seasons – 2021-22 being the other.

The Reds have never lost to Luton at Anfield, remaining unbeaten in 18 matches in all competitions and 14 in the league on Merseyside.

Luton last visited Anfield in 2008 for an FA Cup replay, with Steven Gerrard scoring a hat-trick. Jamie Carragher captained the Reds on his 500th appearance.

The last Anfield league encounter between Liverpool and Luton came in January 1992, when Steve McManaman and Dean Saunders scored in the last five minutes to earn a 2-1 win following a Nick Tanner own goal.

Jürgen Klopp press conference: Luton, squad flexibility, Cody Gakpo and more

Q&AJürgen Klopp press conference: Luton, squad flexibility, Cody Gakpo and moreJürgen Klopp covered a wide range of topics during his pre-Luton Town press conference on Tuesday afternoon.

In the reverse 1-1 draw between the teams earlier in the season, Diaz's late leveller at Kenilworth Road was timed at 94 minutes and 40 seconds, becoming Liverpool's latest equaliser in a Premier League game since December 2015.

At Anfield, the Reds have lost just one of their last 54 league games, winning 41 and drawing 12 across that period.

Liverpool have conceded only 10 goals at home in the Premier League across 2023-24 so far – the lowest of any team in the division.

Across the 19 games hosted at Anfield in all competitions this season, the Reds have scored 59 goals in total.

Only twice in the last 35 seasons have Liverpool amassed more points after 25 games of a league season. They currently have 57, only bettered by 73 points in 2019-20 and 62 in 2018-19.

Referee Andy Madley will take charge of this fixture for a second time this season, having officiated the reverse match at Kenilworth Road in November.
