ReactionSophie Roman Haug on Bristol City draw: 'We have to keep working'

The away side took the lead in the Barclays Women’s Super League clash at Prenton Park through ex-Red Amalie Thestrup five minutes into the second half.

But Norway international Roman Haug equalised when she netted her third goal of the season with a header following a superb cross from Taylor Hinds.

Both teams could have claimed all three points, with Liverpool goalkeeper Teagan Micah making a brilliant save while Missy Bo Kearns was denied with a curled effort in added time.

Matt Beard’s charges now turn their attention to two away games this week to finish the calendar year, starting with a trip to Everton in the Continental League Cup on Wednesday night (7pm GMT).

That’s followed by Sunday’s fixture against Manchester United in the WSL (12.15pm GMT).

“It wasn’t the performance we wanted or what we should have done so we are really disappointed,” Roman Haug told Liverpoolfc.com.

“But at the same time, we got one point so we have to take that and we just have to keep on working hard and improve.

“It is difficult when we’ve been away on an international break and we only have a couple of days to get ready, but we know we should have done better.”

The Reds’ No.10 was on the mark for the second successive home match and says she feels she is getting stronger with each outing.

“It was a great cross from Taylor and I will keep working for more,” added Roman Haug.

“It’s always nice to score in front of the fans, we appreciate them so much.

“Our fans are incredible and the team is as well, I’m really enjoying it here and can’t wait for the rest of the season.”
