PreviewRyan Gravenberch: We want to win this trophy but have to show our mentality
The Reds are back at Molineux for the second time in the week, on this occasion in the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup.
The first visit on Tuesday night was a frustrating one as a stoppage-time goal condemned the visitors to a 2-1 defeat in Premier League action.
The quick turnaround, and with it an opportunity to return to winning ways so soon, is welcomed by Gravenberch.
"It's a bit sore but we have to forget the result what we had and we have to move on and give it our all," the midfielder told Liverpoolfc.com.
"I think we didn't play a really good game. In possession we have to be more patient, also not so sloppy and create more chances. Then if we create more chances, we will score goals."
The West Midlands double-header is the first occasion since 2017 that Liverpool play the same team away from home in back-to-back matches in a season.
It also represents a fresh challenge in Gravenberch's career.
"This is the first time that it's happened," the No.38 continued. "We had them in the league and then on Friday we have the FA Cup game.
"We didn't get the result [on Tuesday], so I think we have to prepare well and show that we can get the result [on Friday].
"They have a good team. They are last in the league but I don't think they deserve to be there because they have a really good team – you saw that also in the game.
"I know it will be a tough game because they have the confidence as well. But we have to be mentally strong and show them that we can get the result as well."
The winner moves to the quarter-finals of the famous competition and one step closer to silverware.
Having won the Premier League and Carabao Cup during his two-and-a-half years with the Reds, Gravenberch is eager to add another medal to his collection.
He finished: "I think as a player you want to win every trophy possible. You want to win every game and that's the mentality you have to show. We go there and we will show that."
