The Liverpool midfielder claims the award for the season’s fifth round of games having starred in the Merseyside derby win over Everton at Anfield.

Gravenberch opened the scoring with a deft, lofted finish over Jordan Pickford and then laid on the assist for Hugo Ekitike’s follow-up as the champions prevailed 2-1.

He saw off seven other contenders for Player of the Matchweek, claiming 31 per cent of the online vote.
