NewsRio Ngumoha strike is Liverpool's latest ever Premier League winner
The teenager came off the bench to sweep in a fine finish in the 10th minute beyond the 90 at St. James’ Park on Monday night, giving the Reds a dramatic 3-2 victory and becoming the youngest scorer in club history.
Ngumoha’s effort with 100 on the clock set a new record for the latest decider Liverpool have ever produced in the Premier League, coming one minute later than Darwin Nunez’s header to defeat Nottingham Forest 1-0 in March 2024.
The third-placed entry on the list also came against the Magpies: Fabio Carvalho’s winner in minute 98 of the Anfield clash between the clubs in August 2022.
Overall, only one Reds goal has been scored deeper into stoppage time of a Premier League match than Ngumoha’s on Tyneside.
Dirk Kuyt converted a penalty in the 102nd minute away at Arsenal in April 2011 to salvage a draw for Liverpool under Sir Kenny Dalglish.
