CommunityRed Neighbours welcomes local kids to Anfield for school ticket draw

The youngsters had the chance to select which Premier League home matches they will be attending with their schools for the upcoming season.

Ahead of the school holidays, children from 28 schools in Anfield and Kirkby – including New Park Primary School, St Francis De Sales Junior School and Gwladys Street Primary School – attended Red Neighbours’ school ticket initiative event, which took place in the Shankly Lounge in the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand.

A representative from each school had the opportunity to select three different balls to draw out to discover which games their school would be attending this coming season, with each school having the chance to select one top-tier fixture such as Manchester City, Manchester United or Chelsea.

LFC’s mascot Mighty Red also joined in the fun and handed out goodies for the youngsters to take away with them and build excitement for their future visits to Anfield to watch the Reds.

The free school ticket initiative is part of Red Neighbours’ focus on creating memorable experiences for young people.

Every season Red Neighbours donates more than 1,000 free tickets to local schools, with 55 tickets provided for each home game to the 28 local primary and high schools in Anfield and Kirkby.

Since the initiative began in 2017, more than 5,500 free Premier League home match tickets have been donated to schools in the club’s local communities.

Forbes Duff, senior manager at Red Neighbours, said: “It’s great to be able to welcome our local schools to Anfield to provide a fun event for them and build excitement for the season ahead.

“We know that this will be many pupils’ first opportunity to attend a game at Anfield and our team is committed to providing them with the best possible memorable matchday experience and one which they will remember forever.”
