NewsRachel Furness leaves LFC Women by mutual consent
The 34-year-old enjoyed three seasons with the Reds after arriving from Reading in December 2019, and leaves to pursue an opportunity elsewhere.
In total she made 64 appearances, scoring 19 goals, taking her to third on the club’s goalscoring list in the Barclays Women’s Super League era.
The Sunderland-born player served as the Reds’ vice-captain and was an integral part of the FA Women’s Championship-winning team of 2021-22.
She made a major impact in international football as well, becoming Northern Ireland’s all-time top goalscorer – male or female - in November 2021 and led the country to their first major tournament in the Women’s Euros of summer 2022.
