Jordan Henderson has paid tribute to Mohamed Salah's relentless excellence ahead of Liverpool's meeting with Fulham.

Salah scored his 184th goal on the occasion of his 300th appearance for the club by dispatching a penalty as the Reds dramatically overcame Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 at Anfield on Sunday.

The No.11 now sits in outright sixth place on Liverpool’s all-time top scorers list and is only two shy of recording yet another 30-goal season.

In his notes for tonight’s official matchday programme, Henderson writes: “When a player performs at an incredibly high level on a regular basis, the things that they do can sometimes be taken for granted as if they are somehow run-of-the-mill or nothing to get excited about.

“I say this because Mo Salah is closing in on recording 30 goals for the fourth season out of the six that he has been with Liverpool, an incredible record that is worthy of special acclaim.

“The goals Mo scores speak for themselves. They always have. Whatever measure you would like to use – variety, quality, value, type of opposition – he has an unbelievable knack of coming up with the goods for us and he has done from the moment he first arrived here.

StatsIn numbers: Mohamed Salah's 300 appearances for LiverpoolMohamed Salah made his 300th appearance for Liverpool on Sunday - here, club statisticians Ged Rea and Dave Ball provide a numerical review of the Egyptian's stellar Reds career to date.

“Seeing him develop the way he has done has been a privilege and it is no exaggeration to say he has gone on to become one of the most feared finishers in world football.

“I also know – mainly because Mo likes nothing better than telling people about his records! – that he is just one goal short of moving into outright fifth place on Liverpool FC’s all-time league goalscorers list.

“A statistic like this could only ever be hugely impressive, but it is even more so when you consider that Mo only came here in 2017. Putting himself in the mix with the greatest-ever goalscorers in the history of a club like Liverpool would be an unbelievable achievement in any timeframe; doing so in less than six years puts it on another level altogether.

“From a teammate’s point of view, all I can say is long may this continue. The more records Mo can break the better, not only for himself but also for the team as a whole because when you have a player scoring as regularly as Mo does it can only ever be a massive help.

“It is definitely not something we will ever take for granted and hopefully if Mo does go on to reach the 30-goal landmark again he will receive the kind of widespread acclaim that such an accomplishment deserves.”
