PreviewPre-match stats: Ceri Holland seeking WSL assist record for Liverpool
Gareth Taylor’s side return to action after the international break by hosting the Foxes in an 11.55am GMT kick-off at St Helens Stadium on Sunday.
Midfielder Holland goes into the game having recorded 10 WSL assists for Liverpool – the joint-most of any player for the club (level with Natasha Dowie and Alex Greenwood).
All three of her top-flight assists so far this season have put her team 1-0 up – the joint-most times of any player in the division, along with Kerstin Casparij and Vivianne Miedema.

Liverpool have won four of their last six matches across all competitions (lost two), as many as they managed across their 23 games prior (drew five, lost 14). Only Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea have a better win rate in all competitions in 2026 than the Reds (57 per cent – played seven, won four, drew one, lost two).
Nine of Liverpool’s 10 points in the WSL this season have come at home (won two, drew three, lost three) and the Reds could equal their longest unbeaten run on home soil in the competition, set between August 2013 and May 2014 (played six, won five, drew one).
Leicester beat Liverpool 1-0 at home on matchday two this season and could complete a league double over the Reds for the second time in the WSL (also 2022-23), something they have never done twice against an opponent.
Liverpool won both meetings with Leicester in the 2023-24 season but are winless in five against the Foxes in the WSL either side of that campaign (drew one, lost four).
Leicester are the only team yet to gain a point in the WSL in 2026, losing all four of their games. The Foxes last had a longer streak of consecutive defeats in the top flight between May and December 2022 (10).
Foxes boss Rick Passmoor won his first WSL meeting with Liverpool head coach Taylor earlier this season but out of the 25 managers the Reds boss has faced two or more times, only Arsenal’s Renee Slegers has ever won their first two games against him.
Leicester are winless in their last 23 away league games (drew seven, lost 16) since a 1-0 victory at Everton in January 2024.
Leicester’s Rachel Williams has scored more WSL goals against Liverpool than any other opponent (eight), netting both of her hat-tricks in the competition versus the Reds (in April 2011 and September 2012). Her first goal for the Foxes would make her the third player to score in the WSL for six different clubs, alongside Nikita Parris and Lucy Staniforth.
