Reaction'A positive day' - Rio Ngumoha and Andy Robertson react to Fulham win

At the age of 17 years and 225 days, Ngumoha became the club's youngest Premier League scorer at Anfield when he broke the deadlock in the 36th minute.

Mohamed Salah added the second goal a few moments later as victory was secured on Robertson's first appearance since announcing he will be leaving the Reds at the end of the season.

Read on to see what Ngumoha and Robertson had to say in a post-match interview with Sky Sports.

On how the result was 'needed'...

Ngumoha: Definitely. I think coming back to Anfield and getting the three points, it's a great feeling. The atmosphere was great again. So, a positive day.

On his goal...

Ngumoha: It was a special goal. Robbo made the overlap and created space for me. Then I just cut inside and I just aimed for the corner.

On whether he'll attempt to recreate Ngumoha's celebration...

Robertson: Absolutely not. We'll be having words about that in the changing room! He was unbelievable. It just shows sometimes don't listen to experienced players. I'm screaming at him to say that I'm coming on the overlap and then he just goes and cuts inside. It was a great finish from him, a great performance by him. He just keeps learning, he keeps listening. He's such a good kid. I'll tell that only on camera and not to his face! But him and Trey [Nyoni], honestly they're a pleasure to work with. They just listen to all the lads and you can see them improving all the time. He's got a big future ahead of him but the here and now is pretty good as well.

On his first game since announcing he will be leaving at the end of the campaign...

Robertson: I knew my song would probably get sung a couple of times. This club means everything to me – it's a fact. I've been here nine years. I was a boy one time. He [Ngumoha] might not believe me but I was! I was young one time and now I became a man here. Look, this club's made me who I am today, so I owe them a lot. I'm just going to try and enjoy and embrace every minute I'm at this football club. When I get the start then I just try and enjoy it. Thankfully, the win was the most important [thing] and a clean sheet is nice to go with it.

On being at Liverpool...

Ngumoha: Liverpool, for me, is the biggest club in the world. To start so young and the manager having belief in me and all the players, it's great. So, I've got to keep working hard and keep pushing on and just go again.
