NewsOut now – Liverpool's Greatest: New book celebrating 100 Reds stars
Earlier this year, a massive poll was conducted here on Liverpoolfc.com and via our social media channels to decide the top 100 stars across the club’s illustrious history.
Around 1.4 million selections were made by supporters, former Reds, journalists and an LFC panel, based on a player’s ability, impact, legacy and success during their on-pitch career at Anfield.
These votes were combined with statistics for every individual to produce the comprehensive final ranking.
Liverpool’s Greatest: A Celebration of 100 Reds Stars counts down the top 100 with biographies of every nomination, alongside bespoke artwork and photography.
The hardback publication – authored by LFC journalists Glenn Price and Chris Shaw – also includes exclusive interviews, reaction from the winner and more.
“With a whole generation of new heroes having created fresh history while representing the Reds, the time felt ripe and right for this,” said Shaw.
“Part of the accompanying joy of football is the debate, the amicable arguments over a pint on a matchday, the changes of opinion as players come and go.
“Conduct the same poll a year from now and the results may well look different. Conduct it in 50 years’ time and who knows?
“But it is a homage to 100 of the best to have worn the Liver bird, from unbeatable goalkeepers to supreme scorers, Scouse talismans to Scottish icons, those who were there when it all began in the 1890s to those blazing trails in the modern day.
“They gave us some of the greatest days of our lives and this is their story.”
An absorbing and fresh way to relive the club’s many heroes of past and present, this official book is a must for Reds and an ideal Christmas gift.
