Get the lowdown on West Ham United ahead of Liverpool's trip to London Stadium in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

Key men

Michail Antonio has been the Hammers' top goalscorer across all competitions this term with 12 strikes, while fellow attacker Jarrod Bowen has found the back of the net 11 times.

Said Benrahma has nine efforts to his name and Gianluca Scamacca has scored eight to date.

Bowen has been West Ham's leading assister so far this season, having laid on the final pass on seven occasions. Benrahma, Tomas Soucek and Lucas Paqueta have each provided five assists apiece.

Recent form

West Ham head into the fixture following a 4-0 win away at AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League last weekend.

The Hammers also progressed into the UEFA Conference League semi-finals thanks to a 5-2 aggregate victory over Belgian outfit Gent in the midweek prior.

David Moyes' men are unbeaten in their last five games across all competitions, winning three and drawing two across that period.

Style of play

Jonty Colman, West Ham writer, Football London

"Injuries have not helped and the big problem this season has been scoring goals, but since the end of February West Ham have scored four goals in a game four times and they have lost just once in their last 10, moving them up to 13th place and six points clear of the relegation zone and into a second successive European semi-final.

"It is almost certain to be a 4-3-3 formation, with Declan Rice anchoring midfield with the experienced Tomas Soucek and the gifted Lucas Paqueta, whose influence and form is growing with every passing game.

"Don't expect to see the hosts have much possession, but what they have showed recently is signs of being their old selves, making defences play on the counter-attack and being more ruthless in front of goal. They don't mind seeing little of the ball, but when they do have it, quick passing, direct runs and balls into the box are to be expected."

Previous meeting

The Reds ran out 1-0 winners over the Hammers in the reverse league fixture at Anfield in October.

Darwin Nunez netted his first goal on home soil for Liverpool in the 22nd minute and goalkeeper Alisson Becker saved a Bowen penalty shortly before the half-time interval to help secure three points.

Stats

  • Liverpool are seeking their 10th league double over the Hammers in the Premier League era and their third in the last four campaigns.
  • In the Premier League, the Reds have won 33 of the 53 meetings, drawing 10 and losing 10.
  • There have only ever been three goalless draws at West Ham between the teams in league meetings, with the last coming in November 1995.

What they said

"We came from 2-0 down against Arsenal, which was a great result and it's given us a lot of confidence," Moyes told his pre-match press conference.

"We'll go into the next game trying to play as well as we can. We had a very good win at the weekend, but now we have another incredibly difficult opponent who over the past few seasons have been up there with the top teams in the world, never mind the Premier League.

"It's not an easy thing to say how do you tackle Liverpool. They have so many good attacking players, they can change their squad around and I think the performances recently have shown they're beginning to find their feet again."
