MatchNottingham Forest v Liverpool: Team news

Jeremie Frimpong will be absent from the 2pm GMT kick-off on Sunday at the City Ground for the Reds, though is nearing a return to action.

The Dutchman has been sidelined since last month's Champions League tie against Qarabag at Anfield due to a muscle issue, but could be recalled to the matchday squad soon.

Arne Slot told his pre-match press conference on Thursday: "Jeremie will not be involved this weekend yet. We hope he will be involved next week [against West Ham United] if things go as planned."

The head coach revealed Joe Gomez is now ready to start if required following his return from injury with substitute appearances against Sunderland and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Wataru Endo, however, remains out for the foreseeable future after being stretchered off in the victory at the Stadium of Light last week.

"No, Wata will be out for a long time, as I said earlier," Slot continued. "We don't know exactly how long - but long."

Conor Bradley, Alexander Isak and Giovanni Leoni are long-term absentees for Liverpool.

Vitor Pereira was appointed as Forest's fourth boss in the 2025-26 campaign last Sunday.

The Portuguese oversaw a 3-0 victory away at Fenerbahce in the Europa League knockout play-offs for his first game in charge on Thursday evening.

"It was a win by the players - the quality of the players - and the support of the fans," said Pereira. "It was not a manager win because I was only three days with them.

"I just asked them to express the quality and the talent that they have on the pitch, with a bit of organisation."

Forest's injury list currently includes Willy Boly, Nicolo Savona, Matz Sels, John Victor and Chris Wood.

On the challenge of having a turnaround of fewer than 72 hours for his side, Pereira said: "We need to rest, because it is a very short time.

"But I believe with the energy of the supporters I think we can play consistently and fight for the three points.

"Tactically, [make] some corrections because we can improve and be consistent.

"I don't want my team to play one way and then another. I want us to play Liverpool with the same tactical intention that we played Fenerbahce."
