There were 60,043 fans present to see Liverpool defeat Azerbaijani visitors Qarabag 6-0 in the Champions League.
That figure surpassed the crowd number recorded when the Reds beat Real Madrid at home in November.
The all-time highest attendance at Anfield remains the 61,905 who witnessed an FA Cup tie with Wolverhampton Wanderers in February 1952.
