Nathaniel Phillips helped AFC Bournemouth achieve promotion back to the Premier League on Tuesday night.

The on-loan Liverpool defender played the full match as the Cherries defeated Nottingham Forest 1-0 to confirm they will take second place in the Championship and return to the top flight for 2022-23.

Phillips joined Bournemouth on a temporary deal in January and has made 16 appearances in the Championship which have included seven clean sheets and only two defeats.

“Congratulations to Nat Phillips, by the way!” said Jürgen Klopp at his press conference following the Reds’ win at Villarreal to progress to the Champions League final.

Bournemouth join Fulham in securing promotion to the Premier League for next season.
