Liverpool's No.11 was in action for his country for the final time at the tournament on Saturday as they met Nigeria in the play-off for third spot.
A goalless stalemate ensued across 90 minutes in Casablanca, Morocco and the outcome was decided by a penalty shootout.
Salah saw his effort saved from Egypt's first kick and it was Nigeria who ultimately prevailed 4-2 from 12 yards.
He will now return to club duty, with Arne Slot confirming discussions are taking place on whether Salah can feature for the Reds as soon as Wednesday's Champions League match at Marseille.
