Mohamed Salah played the full match as Egypt confirmed their place in the Africa Cup of Nations last 16 with a 1-0 win over Sudan.

A 35th-minute goal from Mohamed Abdelmonem separated the sides in Yaounde on Wednesday evening as the seven-time champions finished second in Group D.

Salah was involved throughout and will now progress with his country to a knockout clash against the winners of Group E – to be decided on Thursday – on Wednesday January 26.
