Mohamed Salah finished third in the running for the 2021 Best FIFA Men’s Player award.

The Liverpool and Egypt forward featured on the final three-man shortlist for the accolade, along with Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi.

And at an awards ceremony in Zurich on Monday night, it was announced that Lewandowski had won, with Messi in second and Salah third following a poll of men’s national team coaches and captains, journalists and fans based on their performances between October 2020 and August 2021.
