NewsLuca Stephenson named Dundee United's Young Player of the Season
The on-loan Liverpool man made 34 appearances and scored three goals across all competitions for the Scottish Premiership club, helping them to a fourth-placed finish in the division and European qualification.
“Buzzing, just really happy with the recognition from the fans and everybody who voted,” said the 21-year-old.
“Obviously I’ve worked hard all season so it’s nice to know that people have seen my hard work and what I have put into the season.”
On the benefits of his time north of the border, Stephenson added: “Far in advance of anything I expected. Obviously I’ve played a lot of games but I think they have been good minutes. I’ve not just kind of played every week and not had impact on the games.
“I feel like I’ve had impact on every game I’ve played this year, or the majority anyway. I’ve tried to help the team as much as I can and in the end it has got us European football, so all the hard work is worth it in the end.”
Stephenson, who joined Liverpool as an U15 and signed professional forms with the club in 2020, had also spent 2023-24 on loan with Barrow in League Two.
