Five Liverpool youngsters were involved in action for their loan clubs over the weekend.

Marcelo Pitaluga was in goal for Macclesfield FC's 5-1 victory over Widnes in the FA Trophy, while fellow Reds stopper Jakub Ojrzynski kept a clean sheet for Radomiak Radom in a 2-0 friendly win against FC Shakhtar Donetsk.

In League Two, Adam Lewis started and completed Newport County's 1-1 home draw with Carlisle United. Also in the division, Max Woltman was a late substitute for Doncaster Rovers in their 4-1 success over Crawley Town.

Fidel O'Rourke's Caernarfon Town were beaten by Clyde in injury time in the third round of the Scottish Challenge Cup.
