NewsLiverpool's Greatest: 37 new contenders vying for top 100 place
Earlier this week, we launched a massive new club poll to celebrate the Reds' best men's players since 1892, to be revealed during the summer.
It is the third edition of the ranking after it was conducted as '100 Players Who Shook the Kop' in 2006 and then again in 2013.
Of course, since that last vote 13 years ago Liverpool have lifted multiple major trophies and seen a host of modern-day greats shine on the pitch.
And a significant number of them appear for the first time in the longlist of 250 contenders that are in the running to feature in the final 100.
Many are current squad members, including several two-time Premier League winners and Champions League winners: Alisson Becker, Joe Gomez, Curtis Jones, Andy Robertson, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
Alongside them from Arne Slot's side are Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo, Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch, Ibrahima Konate, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Harvey Elliott and Kostas Tsimikas, both out on loan at the moment, feature among the candidates too.
As does the much-loved Diogo Jota, our forever No.20 who tragically died in a road traffic accident in July 2025.
Premier League champions in 2024-25 before departing the club last summer, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Jarell Quansah are nominated too.
And the debut contenders naturally include a host of players who starred during Jürgen Klopp's successful tenure as manager.
They are: Thiago Alcantara, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, Caoimhin Kelleher, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Sadio Mane, Joel Matip, Simon Mignolet, James Milner, Takumi Minamino, Alberto Moreno, Divock Origi, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Xherdan Shaqiri and Georginio Wijnaldum.
