Read pre-match team news from both sides for Liverpool's Champions League encounter against Real Madrid on Tuesday night.

Curtis Jones was involved in training with the Reds squad on Monday, having missed the past two games.

Head coach Arne Slot did not provide a specific update regarding the midfielder's availability during his pre-match press conference.

He did, though, confirm Alisson Becker, Jeremie Frimpong and Alexander Isak are ruled out of the 8pm GMT kick-off due to injury.

"All three are not available for tomorrow," said Slot. "Jeremie and Alisson will both also not be available for Sunday.

"With Alex we have to wait and see. Definitely not starting on Sunday, but maybe he can be involved in the squad.

"He is still not training with the team, so we have to wait and see."

Giovanni Leoni is a long-term absentee with an anterior cruciate ligament tear.

Mohamed Salah is in line to make his 200th home appearance for Liverpool, while Conor Bradley would receive a one-match suspension in the competition if he is booked.

Real trained in Spain on Monday before making the journey to Merseyside.

Their head coach, Xabi Alonso, confirmed a 22-man squad for the trip, which will see the clubs clash for a 13th time in history.

That group did not include forward Franco Mastantuono, who is dealing with a groin injury, the visitors reported on the eve of the game.

Los Blancos' other absentees include David Alaba, Dani Carvajal and Antonio Rudiger.

The match will see Trent Alexander-Arnold return to Anfield for the first time as an opponent since switching to Real from the Reds in the summer.

Alonso said of Alexander-Arnold at his media briefing on Monday: "He didn't play [last Saturday] because of the context of the game but he's available to play any number of minutes.

"Tomorrow he may play. After the injury he had, we need his qualities - he has great qualities."
