Liverpool expect to have Alisson Becker in goal for their meeting with Nottingham Forest but have been dealt fresh injury blows to Conor Bradley and Florian Wirtz.

Alisson has recovered from the issue he sustained in September's Champions League tie with Galatasaray and is expected to start at Anfield on Saturday, should no complications arise.

Bradley and Wirtz, meanwhile, picked up muscle injuries during the recent round of international fixtures.

Arne Slot told reporters on Friday morning: "Alisson trained last week and this week, so he will be able to play tomorrow if things work out well today again.

"But we do have some issues after the international break unfortunately. Conor Bradley is unable to play [and] Florian Wirtz is unable to play. That's far from ideal."

Slot reported that Wirtz could return after the Forest game, though Bradley is set to be out for the next few weeks at least.

The Northern Irishman's absence further reduces the Reds' options at right-back, with Jeremie Frimpong remaining sidelined with the problem he sustained at Eintracht Frankfurt last month.

Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones and Joe Gomez were put forward as potential players to fill in at the position by Slot.

"He [Szoboszlai] has played really well as a full-back and played really well as a midfielder," the head coach said. "Curtis Jones played there last season.

"Joe Gomez can play there but Joe Gomez has played, I think if I'm correct, two times 90 minutes throughout the whole 2025 year. So, if we want to keep him available longer it's maybe a bit of a risk to play him seven times in 22 days.

"He missed out on a training session yesterday, by the way, as well but we are expecting him to train today."

Szoboszlai is a yellow card away from accumulating five in the Premier League this season, which would trigger a one-match suspension.

Alexander Isak, who last featured for Liverpool at Eintracht before being withdrawn at half-time with a groin complaint, played just shy of half an hour for Sweden last week.

Slot said: "We were hoping [for] him to play a little bit more for the Swedish national team. Unfortunately, he was one yellow away from being suspended, so for obvious reasons they didn't play him the second time."

The extent of Forest's current injury list was reflected in manager Sean Dyche bringing an actual list to his pre-match media briefing.

One of that number could return: Callum Hudson-Odoi, the scorer of the only goal in this fixture last season.

"[He] has made good progress, he has been on the grass with us this week, so he is certainly in consideration to be in the squad. So, that's better news," said Dyche on Thursday afternoon.

"He's around it. If today's gone well and he feels OK, tomorrow goes well, at least we can think about him being back in the fold, in the group, so that will be a positive."

Dyche, who was appointed as Forest's third boss in this campaign a month ago, does not anticipate any other of his sidelined players to be ready, however.

"Chris Wood is getting re-scanned so we're checking up on that. But it's good news so far, that's just part of the process. There's nothing untoward about that, it's just a check-up," he said.

"Douglas Luiz is making progress but he's going to be a matter of time, it's not going to be instant.

"Angus Gunn is still recovering from a knee injury; again, sort of straightforward but going to take a bit of time.

"Dilane Bakwa is making good progress, he is on the grass but not with us. He's just with the medical side and the sports science side. Ola Aina is very similar.

"And [Oleksandr] Zinchenko, he's making progress yet again with the sports science team and the physios, not with us. And young 'keeper Aaron Bott, he's making progress but he's longer term."
