MatchLiverpool v Leeds United: Team news
The Hungarian missed the Reds' victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out due to a one-match ban in the Premier League.
That was served as a result of Szoboszlai accumulating five yellow cards, but he is now clear to be selected again by Arne Slot.
Joe Gomez has been absent for the Reds since sustaining a muscle injury against Brighton & Hove Albion in mid-December.
Wataru Endo, meanwhile, has also been recovering from an ankle issue and last featured in the 3-3 draw away at Leeds three-and-a-half weeks ago.
Elsewhere, Alexander Isak and Giovanni Leoni are longer-term absentees due to injury.
Mohamed Salah is currently unavailable as he competes at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt.
Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konate would sustain a one-game suspension in the division if he is booked in this fixture.
Leeds visit Anfield for the 5.30pm GMT kick-off on a run of five matches without defeat in the top flight.
Daniel Farke's side drew 1-1 at Sunderland most recently, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring for the sixth Premier League game in a row.
The Yorkshire club will make the journey to Merseyside without a mainstay of their XI, however.
Joe Rodon – who has not missed a league match for Leeds since October 2023 – was withdrawn during the first half of the clash with Sunderland with an ankle problem, and Farke confirmed on Tuesday that the defender will not play at Anfield.
Farke said: "Daniel James and Sean Longstaff are out and also right now Joe Rodon is out.
"It's not beneficial for what we want to do but no complaints – we go with what we've got and for that we try to be competitive again."
The Leeds boss was later asked whether Rodon's absence will necessitate a change in defensive shape.
Farke replied: "Of course I would prefer to have him available, it's not a situation that I value when he is injured and not available, but we have other players who could also play in this position, so the good thing is we are flexible.
"We can play a three-man [defensive] formation, we can play a four-man formation, it's good that we have different options but we have also different players who can cover this position.
"Sebastiaan Bornauw is one of them, Sam Byram is a player who has played centre-back, James Justin can play in the back three, so I still think we have enough options to have this as a possible base formation for this game. We are also flexible and capable to change."
Lukas Nmecha was a second-half introduction from the bench at the Stadium of Light having returned to fitness.
Like Konate, Leeds' Ethan Ampadu and Jayden Bogle go into the game one yellow card away from a one-match suspension in the Premier League.
