Liverpool have avoided defeat in their opening fixture of the last three WSL campaigns (two wins, one draw), playing out a 1-1 result with Leicester City in 2024-25.
The Reds could go unbeaten in four consecutive opening-day matches for the first time.
By contrast, Everton have won only two of their 12 opening games of a WSL season (two draws, eight defeats). They have suffered more losses on matchday one than any other side in the competition.
New Liverpool head coach Gareth Taylor has won eight of his nine previous Women’s Super League games against the Blues (one defeat), only recording more victories over Tottenham Hotspur (nine).
Liverpool are aiming to end a winless run in their last seven WSL meetings with Everton (two draws, five defeats).
The Blues have won each of their last four away games against the Reds in the WSL, all without conceding.
Only Katie McCabe (51) created more chances than Marie Höbinger in the WSL last season (47), with the midfielder also setting a record for the most chances created by a Reds player across a single campaign in the division.

Despite only joining on loan from Barcelona in January, Martina Fernandez recorded the most clearances (86) and headed clearances (40) of any Everton player last season in the WSL. She also boasted the best aerial duel success rate of any player to contest at least 20 in the competition overall last term (88 per cent – 22/25).
The two sides were separated by a single point in the WSL standings last season, with Liverpool finishing seventh on 25 and Everton in eighth on 24.
Gemma Bonner has represented the Reds in 10 previous WSL Merseyside derbies, scoring once.
