MatchLiverpool v Burnley: Team news

The Reds welcome the Clarets to Anfield for a 3pm GMT kick-off on Saturday, aiming to extend their unbeaten run to 12 games in all competitions.

Slot held his pre-match press conference on Friday morning and reported that, long-term absentees aside, he has no new injury concerns in his squad.

"Yes, we've got a few injuries. We've got Giovanni Leoni out for the season, we've got Conor Bradley out for the season and Alexander Isak out for multiple months. But for the rest I think everyone is available," said the head coach.

Mohamed Salah has missed Liverpool's last six fixtures due to Egypt's ongoing participation at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The forward will again be absent for the meeting with Burnley, with his country to play against Nigeria in the AFCON third-place play-off on Saturday evening.

Slot confirmed on Friday that Salah will return to Merseyside 'next week' and was asked whether the No.11 will be available for Wednesday's Champions League match at Marseille.

He replied: "That's something we are talking about together now."

The visitors, meanwhile, may be able to call on Joe Worrall again, with the defender and Lyle Foster set to be checked ahead of the game.

Zian Flemming, joint-top scorer for Burnley this season on six goals, has been ruled out, however.

Their boss, Parker, told the media on Thursday: "Joe is in contention. He's close now. He's been on the grass and we'll make a decision on him tomorrow before we travel.

"Zian won't make it. He's a little bit behind, but could be back for the next game.

"Lyle is feeling a bit better after illness. He's probably not quite 100 per cent, but we'll see how he is tomorrow and make a call on his availability thereafter."

The Clarets' injury list has also included Zeki Amdouni, Jordan Beyer, Josh Cullen, Connor Roberts and Mike Tresor.

Having featured at AFCON with DR Congo and Tunisia respectively, Axel Tuanzebe and Hannibal Mejbri are now back on club duty.

"It's been pleasing to get the lads back - they've brought a freshness into the group," said Parker. "Fresh eyes, fresh energy - which can only be of benefit.

"They loved their time with their respective countries, but they return fully focused on the battle that lies ahead for us now. It's been good to have them back."
