MatchLiverpool v Brentford: Team news

The Reds will take on the Bees in their last fixture of the 2025-26 campaign, a 4pm BST kick-off at Anfield.

Goalkeeper Alisson has been absent from match action since March due to injury, while Isak missed last week's trip to face Aston Villa with a minor problem.

However, the pair were both confirmed to be returning to training with Arne Slot's squad and may be in line for a place in the head coach's squad for the final-day contest.

Issuing an update on the duo on Friday, Slot told his pre-match press conference: "Ali will train with us today [Friday], so that's positive.

"Alex trains for the first time with us today [Friday], parts of what we are going to do. So, to a certain extent both positive. That's actually it."

Full-back Jeremie Frimpong was also excluded from the visit to Villa Park due to an unspecified problem.

Long-term absentees Stefan Bajcetic, Conor Bradley, Hugo Ekitike, Wataru Endo and Giovanni Leoni all remain out for Liverpool.

Alexis Mac Allister, meanwhile, is in line to make his 150th appearance for the Reds.

And the game will, of course, be the farewells of Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah after their unforgettable nine-year spells at the club.

Brentford boss Keith Andrews reported no change on the injury front within his squad.

That means full-back Rico Henry will remain unable to feature due to a hamstring issue.

Antoni Milambo and former Red Fabio Carvalho are both sidelined with anterior cruciate ligament injuries.

"The players are in a good place," Andrews told reporters on Thursday. "We've had a good couple of weeks. The season is coming to a close.

"Injury-wise, it's the same as last week in terms of availability."

The ninth-placed Bees remain in contention for European football and, depending on results elsewhere, could clinch a qualification spot with a win or draw in this game.

When asked how he intends to set up his side, Andrews responded: "It's a little bit about our players and where they're at – physically, form, opposition. We're willing to be a little bit unpredictable with how we attack at times.

"On Sunday [against Crystal Palace] we played Dango [Ouattara] a little bit more narrow, closer to [Igor] Thiago.

"We didn't start Kevin [Schade] last weekend, so we wanted those two to come closer as a pair. We wanted to get Dams [Mikkel Damsgaard] and Mathi [Jensen] a little bit closer on occasions.

"There's always a little bit of method in the madness, I suppose."
