MatchLiverpool v Barnsley: Emirates FA Cup team news
The French forward was unable to feature in the Reds' last two matches, owing to a hamstring complaint and delayed onset muscle soreness.
"Hugo, that is not 100 per cent sure but we will do everything to have him available on Monday," Arne Slot told his pre-match press conference.
However, Conor Bradley will not be available. It has been confirmed the full-back sustained a significant knee injury at Arsenal in midweek.
Mohamed Salah remains on international duty after he helped Egypt secure a place in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals on Saturday evening.
Wataru Endo has been sidelined since early December with an ankle problem, while Alexander Isak, Giovanni Leoni and Jayden Danns remain out due to long-term injury.
Slot continued: "I think if I am correct he [Endo] might start to train one of these days, but he has been out for two months now, that's of course different to being out for one week.
"Alex is not going to be back yet and Mo played on Saturday."
On Danns, who scored in last season's round-three FA Cup meeting with Accrington Stanley, Slot said: "Not fit enough, no. Not even training, if I'm correct. One of the players that got a stress fracture because he was young and from what we've been told was a bit over-trained.
"That's why we are so careful with Rio Ngumoha, that he's two days a week off the pitch if that's possible, to not have that same situation with him. But Jayden is definitely not available in the short term."
Slot intends to select the strongest possible squad he has at his disposal for the clash with the League One side.
The Dutchman stated: "I can guarantee you that on Monday you will see all the players that you saw [at Arsenal on Thursday], maybe with some substitutions but then they will be on the bench."
The visitors to Anfield, meanwhile, will be without their captain Luca Connell because of suspension, having been sent off in their last match.
But they do hope to have Georgie Gent, Marc Roberts and Nathanael Ogbeta available.
"Nathanael Ogbeta will definitely be back," head coach Conor Hourihane told the Barnsley Chronicle. "Robbo is going to be touch and go but we will give him every chance to be involved in such a good game.
"Georgie has not trained as many days but they could all potentially be back. It will be touch and go."
Defender Eoghan O'Connell arrived at the club as a free agent on Tuesday and is also in contention to feature.
Hourihane said: "He will definitely be involved. We have to get him up to speed as best we can.
"We know when he gets fit and in a decent place he will be a really valuable player for us heading into the second half of the season."
Adam Phillips, one of Barnsley's current longest-serving players, and Vimal Yoganathan were previously part of Liverpool's Academy system.
