The U21s now turn focus to their Premier League 2 opener at Leicester City on Monday August 18 (7pm BST kick-off).

Coach Jay Spearing told Liverpoolfc.com: “We managed to give all of the squad useful minutes, which was the most important thing.

“We have had a really good pre-season with many different challenges and we now look forward to our opening Premier League 2 game at Leicester.”
