Barry Lewtas' outfit then welcome Leicester City a week later to Kirkby ahead of a first away match of the campaign at Sunderland in early September.

Following the conclusion of the regular season, there will once again be end-of-season one-off elimination play-off matches to determine the overall champions from the top 16 qualifiers.
