AcademyLiverpool to travel to Man City in Premier League 2 play-offs
By Chris Shaw
The Reds confirmed their place in the final phase of 2024-25 with a 2-2 draw at Aston Villa on Friday night. Barry Lewtas’ side finished 16th in the 26-strong table at the end of the regulation campaign.
The top 16 teams advance to the play-offs and are paired against each other in single elimination ties depending on their league position.
By taking the final qualifying place in the standings, Liverpool are drawn to face the team who finished top, Manchester City, and will be the away side.
Fixture details will be confirmed in due course.
Lewtas’ charges beat City 3-1 when they met at the Academy on the opening day of the season last August.
