The full-back is rumoured to be one of several targets for Arne Slot, with Frimpong having been a key figure for the Bundesliga outfit under head coach and former Reds midfielder Xabi Alonso.
The 24-year-old is a current Netherlands international and has been with Leverkusen since 2021, having began his senior career with Celtic after departing Manchester City.
