Liverpool are 'set to rival' Real Madrid and Barcelona for the signing of Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton.

The Reds are said to be reportedly eyeing a move for the £60m-rated England international ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Liverpool have emerged as strong admirers of the 21-year-old alongside the two La Liga giants as a number of Europe's elite clubs monitor his availability.

Premier League rivals Chelsea have also been previously credited with interest, with Wharton having impressed at Selhurst Park in the top-flight this season.

Wharton has been a key player for the Eagles throughout the campaign, totalling 26 appearances under head coach Oliver Glasner.
