Liverpool are expected to hold further talks over Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi after the Community Shield.

Arne Slot’s side are in the market for a new centre back after Jarell Quansah’s move to Bayer Leverkusen left them with just three senior options in that position.

Guehi, who led Palace to an FA Cup triumph last season, is heading into his last year under contract at Selhurst Park.
